Web Tracking

E&L has invested to develop a customized web-tracking system. This will draw attention to larger industry shippers who consider web-tracking a requirement.

Beginnings - In 1976, Larry Boulet, founder and president of E&L opened one of Canada’s first non-asset based freight brokerage operations. The vision for E&L was developed through a freight audit firm he co-owned, as he saw a growing opportunity in the market.

Stability - Since inception, E&L has had no voluntary employee turnover. Employees have a performance component to compensation.

Experience - The key staff have an average of 20 years experience in the freight brokerage business.

Bilingual - The E&L team can communicate fluently in English and French, an asset growing in value as its logistical scope extends Internationally.

Outside sales - E&L successfully uses an outside sales force to generate sales and prospect new client opportunities. Initial contact is made by phone. Competitive pricing captures a potential client’s initial attention. Once awarded an opportunity, the sales team is hands on ensuring the service exceeds a client’s expectations.

Sales team - E&L does not carve out exclusive territories for its sales team. The sales teams’ compensation is 100% commission-based. There is a great incentive to produce and therefore the sales force requires virtually no supervision.

Repeat customers - Some of E&L’s top 10 customers by sales volume have been loyal customers for over a decade. They know and trust the service from E&L. As a result, the work is not competitively bid.

Word-of-mouth - some of E&L’s business has come as a result of benchmarking logistical best practices from Quebec based companies .

Quality - E&L’s top 10 revenue clients are leading Fortune 500 companies.

Diversified - No customer contributes more than 15% of revenues. The top 10 customers span across various industries.

Loyal - Some of the top accounts have been with E&L for more than 10 years.

Growing needs - E&L is capturing a larger share of clients’ logistical needs. Revenues from the top customers have been growing.

Various goods - E&L transports a range of goods, from low value commodities to high value consumer items. From perishables to manufactured items, E&L can handle it.

Adding talent - A few years after inception, having had a fast start and a growing client base, E&L adds a Vice President of Operations.

Expansion - In the early 90's, as the business began to accelerate, E&L looked to add bench strength to take the business to the next level. Concurrently, an opportunity developed to add talented staff from a bankrupt competitor.

30 years - E&L recently celebrated 30 years of business. The Company's formula for success includes its hands-on dedicated staff, and its financial stability. E&L has operated 30 years debt-free.
